Larry Robinson
(Artistic Director) is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and recently earned
his M.Ed. in Theatre Education from UNCG. He teaches theatre at
Parkwood High School. Larry has received awards for directing,
technical theatre, play writing and for students' acting
accomplishments. This year several of his students were honored
with acting awards, including one as "Best Actor" at the NCTC Regional
contest. Larry has served on the Board of Directors for the Union
County Players and has been involved with community theatre for many
years. He has had leading roles in UCP's Arsenic and Old Lace
and The Foreigner. He has also directed several productions
for the Union County Players. Larry has had several students
compete in the National Shakespeare Competition at Lincoln Center in New
York. He was named Teacher of the Year at Parkwood High School for
1999. The NC School of the Arts in Winston-Salem also honored him
in 2003 with their Outstanding Theatre Arts Educator awards.
Lisa Stafford
(Production Stage Manager) is a graduate of Catawba College and UNC-Greensboro.
She is currently teaching theatre at Sun Valley High School. In
high school play contest productions, Lisa has received awards for set
design, play writing and student acting. Lisa's first playwriting
venture, Ties of Fate, premiered at the 2004 NCTC Contest.
Lisa has worked as a director and choreographer for community theatre
productions. She has also worked professionally as a
seamstress/dresser for Busch Gardens, Williamsburg and Seaside Music
Theatre in Daytona Beach, FL.
Eddie Mabry
(Choreographer) began his career as a
choreographer 17 years ago with Union County Players' Legend of
Sleepy Hollow, and has been teaching, performing and choreographing
professionally since that time. Beauty and the Beast marked
his 70th musical. He has choreographed for Paramount Parks,
Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, Carolina Voices, Northwest School of
the Arts, and many corporate events. Eddie has choreographed
numerous shows for CPCC Summer Theatre which include Chicago,
Footloose, and Guys & Dolls which he also directed. He
won Creative Loafing's Choreography Award for his work in The Will
Rogers Follies, The Who's Tommy, and Singing in the Rain, and
most recently won the 2004 Metrolina Theatre Association Award for "Best
Choreography" for his work in West Side Story for CPCC. He
is the owner of Eddie Mabry Dance, a guest artist with Northwest School
of the Arts and is currently on the teaching staff for Winthrop
University.
Kimberly Morgan
(Musical Director) is a graduate of Meredith College and UNC-Greensboro.
She has taught middle school music and chorus for twelve years and is
currently teaching at Sun Valley Middle School. Kim is the site
chair for the West #1 District Large Choral Ensemble Festival.
Credits include roles in The Egg & I, The Diary of Adam & Eve,
Vanities, Spoon River Anthology, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, West
Side Story, Carousel, Pippen and Cinderella. Kim has
worked with UCPE since its inception in various capacities.
Jeff Reynolds
(Conductor & Pit Orchestra Coordinator) is in his fifth year as the
Director of Bands at Sun Valley High School and ninth year of teaching
instrumental music. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education
degree for Wingate University in 1995. He has taught Band at
Anson, Piedmont and Sun Valley High Schools. Jeff has been
involved with UCPE since 2000, coordinating musicians and performing in
the pit orchestra. In addition to UCPE, Jeff has performed with
the Union County Symphony Orchestra, Union County Players, and numerous
church musical productions in the Charlotte metro area.
Professionally, Jeff is a member of the Music Educator's Association and
the NC Music Educator's Association. He is currently an enlisted
member of the U.S. Army's 108th Division Reserve Band, based in
Charlotte.
Steve Shepherd
(Technical Director) is self-employed as a real estate paralegal.
He has worked as a volunteer for the past eight years for the Parkwood
Theatre Department, serving as head (and frequently only) member of the
set construction crew. He has worked on every major play and
several minor ones at Parkwood, and has built the sets for UCPE's
performances of Beauty and the Beast, Pirates of Penzance, West Side
Story, and Peter Pan.
